What’s up everyone? It’s Rich! I finally got around to writing my 3 year updated review for The Phoenix device. Unlike my 2 year review I wrote last year, this time, I wanted to make things a little more short and concise.
You can always look back at my 1 year review and my 2 year review as I did a comprehensive dive into:
What Li-ESWT (shockwave therapy) is
My personal experience when I got my Phoenix device during the beginning of the COVID pandemic
My results with The Phoenix compared to shockwave treatment that I used to get at a men’s health clinic years ago
And of course, additional questions and answers about treatments, protocols, maintenance, AND common sense topics about sex and relationships that matter
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of misinformation and misguidance around the web. My hope is that this 3 year update helps clear things up as well as gives you all the information you need to take control of your sex lives. As always, I’m here for you. I’m rooting for you in your corner and I want to encourage you all to keep reading and learning about your sexual health.
BEFORE we move forward with my 3 year updated review of The Phoenix, please go ahead and read my disclaimer.

My Personal Review After Using The Phoenix for 3 Years
If you read my yearly updates, I had explained that I was at the point where my results from shockwave therapy in the years prior to 2020 were fading and that I was looking to get a tune up.
Why?
If you actually look at the research behind Li-ESWT you would know that re-treatment is a part of the process and that moving forward, maintenance is what’s going to keep results as well as fight the natural sexual decline we ALL face, eventually.
And besides the fact that we’re all not getting any younger, having a simplistic view on sexual health, or a “silver spoon” mentality (“just give me the pill”) or (“I’ll just figure it out alone”), just won’t cut it.
You need to hold yourself accountable and tackle YOUR root causes… all of them. So that you can “get it up” in the bedroom or “keep it up” for the years to come.
That being said, I’ve explored the science and research in my blog about different sexual health related topics affecting men when it comes to sex. Getting a Phoenix back in 2020 was the start of my own personal journey and now I’m resharing that experience with all of you.
Year 1 With the Phoenix Device Inspired Me to Explore Men’s Issues in the Bedroom
My Q&A on The Phoenix I wrote in 2021 was a reflection on my first year trying this device and taking matters into my own hands. I saw that I was able to get the same results as I did when going to the clinic.
For me, it gave me the confidence to say that I CAN do this. I can be my own advocate and I can do my own research. This way, I CAN have better conversations about my sexual health with my partner, my doctors, and people in need of a push in the right direction.
I made my website 3 years ago to give back to everyone because I couldn’t find some of the answers I was looking for when it came to sex education and sexual health for men.
And sometimes it’s HARD to find some of these answers online or from the right channels. Oftentimes we get pulled into these echo-chambers where everyone is mimicking each other. But if you’re in the wrong chamber, you hear the wrong echoes!
As of 2023, going into 2024, and in the years to come, I hope to inspire others and help build on what The Phoenix can offer men who are dealing with performance issues in the bedroom. These topics around men’s issues are often seen as taboo and having more spaces like these can help men deconstruct old ideologies and poor mindsets around sex.
Year 2 With the Phoenix Device Focused on Maintenance and Longevity of Results
If you’ve researched Li-ESWT, or have been informed by a men’s health clinic, results tend to last up to 2 years. I restarted the entire treatment protocol in July of 2022, basically 2 years later from when I first got it in 2020.
Treatment Protocol:
Phase 1 (days 0-30, July-August of 2022): Initially, the effects of Li-ESWT weren't as noticeable as before, but by the end of July, I saw improvements in performance.
Phase 2 (days 30-60, August-September of 2022): The first rest period brought back increased sensitivity and spontaneity of my penis getting hard. Almost like a reboot.
Phase 3 (days 60-90, September-October of 2022): During the re-treatment, I had felt my penis at its fullest and most sensational during foreplay, penetration, and ejaculation.
Phase 4 (days 90-120, onwards): The final phase -- My morning wood wakes me up in the early mornings (Nocturnal penile tumescence) more regularly. Currently, my Phoenix device is back in storage, hopefully not to be used again until 2024.
Important Observations and Summary of What I Learned in My 2nd Year of Using the Phoenix:
The Phoenix Li-ESWT device is not the only solution for men's sexual health issues, but it's a good tool to have for long-term maintenance and improvement in sexual performance.
I saw my results start to fade before the two-year mark, which I can only speculate might have been due to contracting COVID-19 during the 2021 Christmas season (Omicron variant).
Penis pumping, which used to be part of the Phoenix protocol, is now optional. Although I love using my Bathmate Xtreme pump, and there are benefits to using one in general, penis pumping might not be a comfortable task for everyone, let alone, another task to do on top of the 15-20 minutes spent using The Phoenix. I get it, it’s not for everyone.
Lastly, if you read my 2 year review of The Phoenix, I acknowledged and accepted that I MADE A MISTAKE and wished I had tracked my results using a ‘hardness scoring’ test.
There were different tools/scoring used in Li-ESWT research for determining success. For instance, the IIEF questionnaire (International Index of erectile function) and the EHS (Erection Hardness Score question) were commonly used in the research and something you might have filled out/answered when going to a Urologist’s office.
Although the IIEF scoring (or any of the questionnaires) is NOT a substitute or a diagnosis for ED (disclaimer), it led me to the idea of custom coding a dynamic IIEF questionnaire calculator.
Whether you're using a penis pump to enhance your erection quality, or you're going on PED5i's like Viagra or Cialis, or doing Li-ESWT, it’s a good way to track your progress with an IIEF to compare and contrast what is considered your baseline VERSUS what your results are after using treatment options like these in the longer term.
This way, you can make your own conclusions as to what works and what doesn’t work.
Year 3 With the Phoenix Device Focuses on the Importance of Sex Education
So far, I’m still experiencing results after using The Phoenix since I restarted the protocol in July of 2022. Of course, this is subjective to my own personal experience and lifestyle adjustments I’ve been doing to maximize results (results vary from individual to individual).
But reflecting back to the “hard” days, before I ever ventured off to NYC to get Li-ESWT treatment, I physically struggled in the bedroom where I had to stroke myself to get hard or to keep that level of hardness for sex.
Even with pills, I didn’t quite feel like I was 100% rigid. Sometimes these pills worked and things went according to plan whereas others, the timing was off and they didn’t work that well or I got a headache from the side effects.
After finding out how much of a big difference Li-ESWT treatment made, I was able to perform at an EHS of a 3 without PED5i treatment and with it, at a 4 (full rigidity). I was able to rely less on pills as I became more responsive.
And because the results of Li-ESWT treatment do not last forever and you still need to retreat again in the future, my transition to just using The Phoenix device at-home, yielded the same results and as my preferred way of maintaining results in the future.
Luckily, in 2023, I didn’t face any challenges like COVID (knock on wood). But, I buckled down this year to really learn more about sexual behaviors and relationships, a key component in making this whole process even better.
And last but not least… unlike some people who hide their performance issues from their partners… which I hate to break it to you, they do know notice, they’re just walking on eggshells around you. I told my partner I had bought a shockwave device and that I was using it on my penis.
3 years later, she’s still on board and the journey of communicating with each other about our sexual health and sex life continues to help make our bond and relationship stronger.
A Movement I’m Glad To Be A Part Of…
Circling back, I believe in The Phoenix device because the creators and team of Urologists behind this actually took the time to solve a universal problem that men have been facing for far too long.
To stand up against the critics and communities who are misinformed, and actually invest in something that helps men with a common problem that is often ridiculed in society or suffered in silence by the one experiencing it, or even the partner (who also suffers in silence)… is a movement I’m glad to be a part of.
This is what separates the men who have that “silver spoon” mentality of “just give me the pill” or “I’ll figure it out alone” with the men who are more open minded, emotionally intelligent, are willing to explore all treatment options that make the most logical sense for their case. And lastly, are willing to work with their partner (not against them) to spark creativity and solutions to enhance their relationship and quality of sex.
Now, let’s go into some of these unanswered questions some of you have asked me this year in 2023 about The Phoenix device.
FDA Approval and the Rigorous Process For The Phoenix
Lately, I’ve been getting questions like, “When will this device be available overseas?” or “What’s the deal with the FDA approval process?”
Well, here's the deal. The company behind The Phoenix Soundwave Device has applied for FDA approval, and while it's still pending, let's not forget that the FDA doesn't just hand out approvals like candy.
They go through a rigorous process to ensure safety and effectiveness. And these things take time. The company only started a few years ago, so it’s about going through the proper channels first before getting that stamp of approval. If you don't understand that, then you must be living under a rock because this happens with all business, regardless of the industry (rules and regulations 101).
That being said, when the day The Phoenix finally becomes approved, I will be one of the first people to let you know.
Commentary on The Reviews Of The Phoenix I See Online
Remember that blog I wrote, "Commentary On The Current Reviews On The Phoenix Li-ESWT Device: Does It Actually Work?".
Yeah, I've got a lot to say on the subject. If you haven't read it, you should.
Analyzing bad reviews of The Phoenix has shown me that some guys just don’t pay attention or they don’t do their research.
One of the biggest things I've noticed is that some guys who end up getting the device don't follow the treatment protocols or fully understand the science behind shockwave therapy or how the device is supposed to work.
Which is like expecting a car to run without gas… it just ain't gonna happen!
Or, I see these guys who review The Phoenix, tell their audience that they only used it twice or three times and have NOT gone through the entire protocol. This prevents them from actually making a comprehensive review to begin with.
And I’m not saying that my reviews are the gold standard here, but if you’re going to make a review on something, at the very least:
Reduce the variables that limit your success (health and lifestyle choices that affect sexual health, using “other” conflicting products that make it harder for you to differentiate what works versus what doesn’t, or not addressing the problems in your relationships that affect your sexual performance, etc.)
Go through the entire protocol FIRST, before saying something works or doesn’t work. But, then explain WHY it worked, and vice versa, WHY it didn’t work if that’s the case for you.
This will help cut through the noise…but most importantly, for those of you who didn’t get the best results, let’s try to understand why or what variables are going on in your life that are limiting your success. OR what else could you be doing to maximize results?
The Phoenix Is Not A One Time Solution, It's a Journey
To be clear. It does work.
But, The Phoenix isn't a magic device that brings instant results, and it’s not a “catch all'' treatment either. Too many guys are looking for a quick fix, but that’s just not the case or how results happen with The Phoenix. Results may vary, but it’s a gradual process.
The Phoenix is also not a one time solution. Sexual performance issues can always come back. Li-ESWT is meant to be a long term solution, and not a “do this once” and you’re rid of this problem forever. Sexual decline in men has way too many variables and what caused you to be at a point where it was difficult to become hard or stay hard, can happen again if you don’t take care of yourself.
This is why, The Phoenix is also meant to be used as a maintenance tool, where you take it out of its box to use it again in the future when results start to fade (or when you need a tune up).
The 120 day protocol that aligns with the current extensive research we have so far on shockwave therapy was designed by head Urologist, Dr. Paul Thomson. He designed it so that it can be your roadmap to success, guiding users on how to effectively use the device for optimal results and for future use when results start to fade.
So, Who Is The Phoenix Device Really For…
I get this question a lot. Like, A LOT.
Besides the extensive research on Li-ESWT (shockwave therapy), which tells you EXACTLY who it’s for, The Phoenix is mainly for 3 types of guys:
Guys who are experiencing difficulty staying or getting hard.
Guys looking to maintain and retreat their results from using Li-ESWT.
Guys looking to prevent sexual decline or the inability to get hard.
Affordability and Cost Comparison Of The Phoenix Versus Going To The Clinic
Every once in a while, I get an email from a guy who complains that The Phoenix is too expensive. But if only people like him would understand the bigger picture of what it actually costs to go to a men’s health clinic.
Now sure, a men’s health clinic will offer OTHER treatment strategies to complement the effects of shockwave therapy such as hormonal therapy, physiotherapy for male pelvic floor dysfunction, or even psychotherapy for the anxious individual.
But, shockwave treatments at a men’s clinic are $500 per session. And there is NO, “let me just try 1 or 2 sessions” to find out if it’s for me.
Just like the clinical studies on Li-ESWT, the average treatment sessions that are spread out over a span of weeks are usually 6-12 treatments for the average individual to SEE results.
Again, not 1 or 2. But 6-12 treatments was the threshold or “common” variable used throughout these clinical trials. 1 or 2 treatments is just not enough to truly see the benefits.
That being said, 6-12 treatments in a men’s health clinic would cost around $3000 to $6000 dollars for the average person.
The Phoenix Soundwave Device, which gives you up to 70 treatments, or when the device has a noticeable decrease in power (think of it like a car or laptop with normal wear and tear) is only $879 dollars for one individual person.
But does it mean that The Phoenix is a weaker device? Not necessarily. It’s not like a clinical machine that is powered for dozens of penises per day. The Phoenix is designed for ONE individual ---meaning ONE penis. So, don’t go sharing it with your dad, brother or cousins. Tell them to get their own.
And If You Still Think It’s Too Expensive…
For those of you who don’t know, sometimes, Getmyphoenix offers a sale around the holidays making it that much cheaper. And on top of that, I even write a blog or send an email if there is some exclusive deal out.
My last comment on this is that you can even get The Phoenix for a bit cheaper on any given day.
When there is not a sale, my code, "BDESTYLE" can get you an additional $150 off. Bringing it down to only $729. So, compared to traditional shockwave therapy options, there is always a deal on getting a Phoenix device.
That’s my gift to you!
How Do I Get The Best Results With The Phoenix?
Addressing sexual decline isn't just about popping a pill or using a device. It's also about taking a multi-step approach to address all of your root causes. Think of it as a part of the recipe for success. But you also have to consider lifestyle factors, your mental wellbeing, exercise, and nutrition, and any other imbalances. It all plays a role in the grand scheme of things.
So, my advice? Don't JUST rely on the Phoenix Soundwave Device alone.
Take care of yourself in every way possible. GO the extra mile and ensure that you can get rock HARD again and can do what it takes to get the best results possible.
But most importantly, TALK TO YOUR PARTNER ABOUT IT!
I mentioned earlier that the main focus for this 3 year review is about sex education and communication with your partner. It’s about understanding why we do the things we do when it comes to sex (our sexual behaviors) and what our feelings are telling us so that we can become better at communicating our needs and talking to our partners.
I told my partner about my performance issues as well as using The Phoenix because I knew that by opening up about my doubts, my goals, and what I had planned to do (experiment) was important for her to know so that there weren’t any surprises. I knew that by having these “continued” conversations, it would help her empathize with me and understand the bigger picture.
Which is that our society tends to put a lot of weight on men to perform.
This is why it’s important to have these “continued” conversations so that you CAN feel like you’re being heard. Oftentimes, men are so caught up in “deflecting” the conversations about their sexual issues or “defending” themselves against their feelings, especially when they FEEL uncomfortable talking about them.
And, if you fail to address these things, then that silence in your relationship will keep shame and all those other unpleasant feelings…alive!
When you actually talk about these things, not only do you strengthen the bond you have with your partner(s), but your results with The Phoenix, pills, pumps, or whatever combination you’re using, WILL work better.
So, don’t hide from your partner. Talk to them. Normalize the conversation. And let them know, so they can be in your corner, too.
This is a topic that I've been really driving home in the last year and why I continue to explore these topics because this knowledge or shift in perspective CAN help with your sexual confidence. It can also help you feel empowered to navigate the nuanced waters of sex and performance issues.
So, if you’re curious, and want to understand sex, desire, arousal, or why you act a certain way when it comes to performance issues, some of these guides may help some of you:
Can sexual desire be spontaneous, responsive, or a mix of both? Understand why you have sex in the first place and how to tap into you and your partner’s desires.
Are your sexual performance issues “all in your head”? This is perfect for the “anxious” individual.
What happens in our bodies during sex? I wrote about the sexual response cycle and highlighted what happens at the start of sex, all the way to the end (resolution aka...refractory period)
Is there an orgasm gap in your relationship? You might not think your performance issues are related, but they DO intersect. Oftentimes, in the media, this idea of how men are supposed to perform or that sex is like what you see in the movies is actually false. And because pornography, movies, social media, and other online spaces perpetuate these misconceptions, it creates unnecessary pressure. It also creates an imbalance in relationships causing a gap for “mutual pleasure”. That being said, with a little understanding, some sex education, and guidance, it might help you relieve some of that pressure to perform as well as help bring more “mutual” pleasure in your relationships.
It happens to the best of us, but sometimes, after a break up, men have trouble “getting it up” for new partners. It’s an emotional rollercoaster.
How do penises actually work and what can disrupt the flow of things when being intimate. You’ll understand how your little guy can be strong and healthy one day, but can at times, lose strength or not be as hard as you like.
Could your masturbation “hand” technique affect your sexual performance? You would think “Fleshlights” are taboo or pornographic, but really, there are a lot of sexual health benefits when using one, instead of your hand.
Additional Q&A About The Phoenix
Alright, it's time for a little Q&A on other additional topics:
Q: How long does it take to actually perform a treatment with The Phoenix device?
A: A single treatment session typically lasts around 15-20 minutes. When you’re maneuvering the device with one hand and your penis in another, 15-20 minutes REALLY goes by quickly and then you’re done. It’s really not as long as people think or make it out to be. They have tutorials on their website that you can follow along and then before you know it, you’ve completed a session.
Q: The Phoenix Device is loud. How do I perform treatments in my home while others are around?
A: I’ve talked to many guys in the past 3+ years and some would worry that their partners or neighbors would hear them or that they’re afraid to perform treatment because of the noise and how long it would take to perform a treatment session.
My answer to this is 1) it’s NOT that loud and 2) your sexual health is important.
I once told a guy that I compared the noise to the equivalent of a nebulizer machine that I use for my asthma. But when I have an asthma attack, I’m going to use the machine no matter who hears it or whatever time of day. Although I’m comparing apples to oranges here, and this is my lungs we’re talking about—-I'm treating the experience the same because It shouldn’t matter. IT’S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS.
If you have neighbors or kids, some guys have mentioned going to the garage or basement, because they can be (not always) more insulated than other parts of the house. Also, it's a good PRIVATE space so you can perform treatment without interruption. My other suggestion would be to do treatment when your neighbors or family members are out OR just turn on some music to cancel out some of the noise.
If you have a partner, then tell them so they'll give you the time, privacy and space. If you don't tell them, then they'll think you're hiding something from them. Then they'll start thinking "what else are you hiding from them?
Point is, BE CREATIVE. NORMALIZE the situation and make it part of your regular routine.
Q: Are there any side effects from using The Phoenix?
A: No, there are no known side effects associated with using The Phoenix device.
Q: How long does it take to see results?
A: This varies from person to person, but according to Getmyphoenix, users start seeing improvements in sexual function within the first 90 days. Full results are usually seen after completing the 120 day protocol and letting the physiological response that come from Li-ESWT treatment take effect on the penis. This is why its a gradual process. The effectiveness of this protocol is based on an ongoing record/survey by their company, which currently holds a 93% success rate.
If you’ve had the phoenix for a while and followed Dr. Thompson’s 120 protocol and are not seeing results, then it is suggested to follow another month of retreatment followed by another month of rest.
If you’ve had The Phoenix for a while and are seeing results, but still not exactly where you want to be, then first off…take ANY bit of result as a win in this battle when navigating your sexual health. Next, I would suggest you re-evaluate your sexual health with your Urologist and address any limitations going on in your life that may be preventing you from getting the results you’re looking for.
But, if you’re the type of guy who thought you were going to run around with a flag pole at full mast for hours...like a porn star, then I would re-evaluate your expectations because that’s not how penises work and that’s not how Li-ESWT is supposed to work.
Q: Can anyone use The Phoenix?
A: Technically yes, BUT The Phoenix is not for everyone. (Who is not considered a candidate?) (What are the limitations?) You can do their 2 minute assessment on their website to see if The Phoenix is a good fit for you.
Q: Is there a warranty on The Phoenix?
A: Yes, the device comes with a one-year warranty and a 90-day money-back guarantee. This is their free home-trial, which is more than enough time to start seeing results. No other company does this and I personally think that’s a fair deal for anyone looking to see if it works for them or not.
Q: How often should I use The Phoenix?
A: For best results, you need to follow their suggested 120 day protocol, which is 2 treatments a week for one month followed by one month of rest. Then repeat this process again (to the 120 day mark). Next, you would then evaluate results to see if you need another round or not. If not, then put the Phoenix away in storage and enjoy the results until you have to retreat in the future.
Q: Is it covered by insurance?
A: Unfortunately, no. Again, there is always a sale and I even offered my code to help make it cheaper.
Q: Can I return it if I don’t see results?
A: The answer is yes. They have a support team that can help facilitate this. As mentioned earlier, they offer a 90 day home trial where you can return it within that time window if it’s not for you. As mentioned before, The Phoenix is not for everyone. Some guys might have too many health issues or variables in their lives that limits them from seeing a significant result. Or perhaps, they weren’t a candidate to begin with.
That’s the point of the educational piece, so that people know who is it for, and if you’re the type of guy who needs extra hand holding, or work to get to a better point in his life, then it’s important to do your research and consult with your doctor to address all of your root causes and exhaust all options that make the most logical sense for you.
Final Thoughts On The Phoenix Device After 3+ Years
I promised I would keep my 3 year review of The Phoenix short and sweet, but I got carried away.
After three years of using The Phoenix Soundwave Device, I can confidently say that I’m one of the very few guys who have the longest written review on this topic and have done the research behind Li-ESWT.
You’re not going to find that elsewhere or in a 1 minute Tik Tok video. Sexual decline and sexual health is a very complex topic, which is why I encourage you all to keep learning and to practice your soft and hard skills, like reading and active listening.
The Phoenix is a singular tool that has helped me reclaim my confidence, reignite my performance, and led me down a path to strengthen my relationship. Remember, to follow the treatment protocols, commit to the ENTIRE process, work with YOUR partner and embrace a “multi-step approach” to healing. Your sexual health is worth investing in.
If you guys are interested in the device or have questions, feel free to send me a message on here. I try my best to look at and respond to All emails.
If you're ready to start your journey to improving sexual decline, make sure to get an extra $150 off The Phoenix by using my personal discount code "BDESTYLE".
